This is an amazing tiny house - which are very much on trend. Off grid much of the time. Could you downsize to this level and could this space work for one, or two? I don’t think more is feasible? I am loving 🥰 my Yogurt Nest from @endemic_azores!

In my quest to go zero waste, I realized buying yogurt for the family comes mostly in plastic tubs. I then tried to switch to an electric yogurt maker but could never quite get the consistency I liked.

A friend of mine recommended these insulated bags to make yogurt which really surprised me. So I decided to try it out. They are amazing!

I begin by heating my farm milk, but don’t let it boil.

I’ve then use old glass jars with metal tops. I might find a better version than these later on. I add 1 heaped teaspoon of starter yogurt from a previous batch. This is the sacrificial pot from the last batch or a store bought one that you really like to begin the process

I then nestle the jars into this gorgeous yogurt nest. Add the insulated pad on top and tie up the ribbon. 6 to 10 hours later, yogurts up!

The insulation is made from Portuguese cork fragments, and the outside is a lovely wool felt.

I am so happy having found a pretty good zero waste solution for making yogurt. I’m not yet experienced enough to see if I could make other types of yogurt from soy milk or….

I love this solution for many reasons: It is electricity and plastic- free. I get my milk straight from the farm – even though I am aware that cows are a problem for the environment but I like it as a solution as it is locally produced and it gives our local farmer a fair price for their milk rather than the big store prices that squeeze them unfairly .

But I keep hunting and refining my search and solutions

Any experience and comments most welcome.

A bit creepy for me, i I like a modern bathroom 😊

Question 😩

I love it but as a « holidays home » bathroom! Not for everyday life!

Its clear they are trying very hard to create a jungle feel, but its not for me. I would have used lighter stones, more natural light, and defo screened off the loo. Too contrived and too dark.

I’m with Judith, don’t want soil in the bathroom or rough stones underfoot

On reflection- if it was in a hotel I would think it cool- just would not want in my own home

A little too close to an outhouse feel. Also, how to clean? Is this moss intentional or should I scrub it......

I have been seeing this trend over time and I think it is quite a fun use of tiling and parquet. It certainly is an original method of breaking a hard line between one open room and another.

However, is it a fad? How long would this excite you before it began to irritate? And it certainly requires more labour which ups the price considerably ... and it must be done masterfully to good effect or it can easily become a botched jobTiles collections design @wow_designeu

I like the effect in the office (blue and white) but as you say, it has to be done really well. In the bathroom, the staggered design would make me very dizzy. Having said that, I would use this in Feng Shui to bring in the colours and shapes of the different areas, especially in a large open space.

Lovely, but I'd quickly find it irritating. I like disorder in the garden and a semblance of order in the house. Or at least in the tiles. Looks like a fad to me.

I like it and I don’t think it will get irritating. It’s a nice and playful way to mark a different area in an open plan situation.

I could live with the first floor but the others would drive me nuts....

I don’t like it, too random for me, I would find it annoying.

Irritating!

While I really detest enclosed bath tubs (particularly with solid materials) - this is as perfect as you could get if you were to design such a bath...
I definitely think for the rarely used guest bathroom...#bathroom idea in #pastelcolor #designdautore
